Oral (History of) Philosophy

During my postgraduate studies, I got interested in how philosophy and the history of philosophy can survive and progress in digital times. With the rapid rise in podcast popularity, I started reflecting on this amazing return to philosophical oral discussions in the digital agora. I asked myself whether the spoken word deserved an equal place beside the written text in the history of the discipline and whether they could replace them entirely. Philosophy, after all, began in conversation. For instance, my article on the rebirth of the Socratic origins of philosophy questions what that dialogical inheritance means in a digital era of recorded talks, interviews, and online exchange, where the living voice is once again central to how ideas are created and being circulated.
