Philosophy and Ethics of War

My position is that rather than beginning from abstract just-war principles, trying to find the justifications for atrocities, scholars should begin from lived experience of war victims and from an ethics of care, asking what is owed to the wounded, the displaced, and the grieving, how can we understand their experience better and be of more help. In my last papers, I addressed the question of hospitality and education for displaced war children, and argued that no agenda of human flourishing can be credible while it ignores wars and political instability.
