Evil as Embodied Experience
The term “embodied experience of evil” does not refer to non-scientific or metaphysical states; rather, it denotes the experience a person undergoes when confronting horrific instances of violence and suffering commonly labelled as evil. My research linked the study of manifestations of evil directly to the experience of war. I focused not only on the concept of evil itself and the transformations it underwent in the history of philosophical thought, but also on the firsthand experiences Ukrainians have been living through over the past few years, analysing the case of the ongoing Russian war in Ukraine and its depiction and understanding of evil.
